ELIGIBILITY
The Xenia Chamber Music Course provides high quality tuition to players of different age groups and levels, from new chamber musicians to young string quartets at the start of their professional careers.
AGE AND NATIONALITY
Musicians of all nationalities may apply.
Aged 12 to 24 years old (as of 4 August 2025).
Applications are welcomed from pre-formed string quartets and individual players.
DATES
The dates above include travel days.
All participants must attend the Course from the 1st day right through to the final concert – exemption from lessons or late arrival are not allowed.
LOCATION
Pràcatinat Hotel & Restaurant was built in the 1930s by the Agnelli family and is located in the heart of the Alpi Cozie Natural Park. Accommodation in double and triple rooms, with private bathroom. The residency holds a maximum of 60 students.
FEES
The 2025 course fee is € 1,220 plus € 50 membership fee and will include all tuition, meals and accommodation, use of the library and teaching materials, onsite insurance, and transports to and from the concert venues.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships to cover fees in part are generously offered by the Maguire Fund

A TYPICAL DAY AT XENIA
–Your lessons: every day students will receive 5 hours of tuition, consisting of three sessions of chamber music coaching (75 mins each), orchestral rehearsal, plus time for solo practice or focused group sessions.
–To begin the day: short warm-up exercises.
–Other activities: students will be invited to take part in daily outdoor sports and games. Evening activities will include traditional music sessions, indoor games, masterclasses, concerts and talks with special guests.
