Daniel Llewellyn Roberts
Violin
Daniel Llewellyn Roberts (b.1987) studied with Nigel Murray and Jan Repko. He is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, and holds Masters degrees from the Royal College of Music, London and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien, Hannover.
Daniel is a founding member of the Castalian String Quartet, winner of the 2019 Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award, the 2018 Merito String Quartet Award and Valentin Erben Prize, a Borletti Buitoni Trust Fellowship and top prizes at the 2015 Lyon International Chamber Music Competition and the 2016 Banff International String Quartet Competition.
The quartet performs internationally at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Wigmore Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus and Paris Philharmonie.
Daniel is extremely grateful to the Worshipful Company of Musicians for the loan of a violin by Joseph Guarneri filius Andrea of 1705.
